With so many great (...awful?) covers it was impossible to pick just three. The TTTP team of judges decided to award three special runners-up prizes to three honorable mentions we felt deserved some extra recognition.

2006 HONORABLE MENTIONS


 Honorable Mention #1: THE WORLD'S FIRST COLORING DVD by YPSmitGimmick


Richard Jebe (a/k/a YPSmitGimmick on the GAC Forums) came up with this creative idea for a DVD. His prize is a selection of public domain Cartoon Craze DVDs featuring such characters as Popeye, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd, Porky Pig, and Woody Woodpecker!

Honorable Mention #2: DAFFY DUCK...AND MAYBE PORKY by Boilerwash


Matthew Cole (Boilerwash) put together this Daffy Duck cover that does a good job of imitating those PD covers that look like they were the result of a 5-minute Google image search. His runner-up prizes are a copy of the DVD set Super Friends, Volume 2 and, of course, his very own DVD of public domain classics.

Honorable Mention #3: DUFFY DUCK GOES TO WAR by mmm...donuts


Stefano Alba (mmm...donuts on the Forums) sent this us this cover with a Wartime theme. His runner-up prizes are a copy of the DVD set The Perils of Penelope Pitstop - The Complete Series and, yes, his very own DVD of public domain cartoon classics.

 3rd place: OSWALD DA UNLUCKY RABBIT by JAGBugs10


GAC Forums member Christine (JAGBugs10) sent us this cover drawn by her ten year old son, Javier. Young Javier is a big fan of classic cartoons and this website and he put together this clever cover featuring a character who was making headlines earlier this year: Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Christine said "The first thing Javier did when we came home today [from vacation] was to check if he won the contest. He literally jumped up and down, he was so excited." He wins a copy of The Flintstones - The Complete 4th Season on DVD and DVD full of public domain cartoons!!


2nd place: BUGS BUNNY - THE 10 BEST by gdX

Greg Dundis (gdX) comes in 2nd place with this classic cover featuring Bugs Bunny (or an unreasonable facsimile). He wins a copy of the DVD Looney Tunes Golden Collection, Volume 3 and a public domain DVD with Porky Pig!

Congratulations, Shelley Pleger (a/k/a Easily Amewsed)! Not only will Shelley be getting a copy of the Tom and Jerry - Spotlight Collection, Volume 2, The Best of Tennessee Tuxedo and His Tales and a DVD of public domain shorts... this cover will be an inspiration to ugly PD cover artists for generations to come.
